Igrom was a sailor and merchant on the Sea of Fog long before the war between the Foulbriar Dwarves and the goblins of the Border Mountains. He is a scrapper in a fight, and however much he is a specialist with a maul hammer, he is also proficient in improvised weaponry, so suffers no to-hit penalty using common, every day objects as deadly implements of war. He prefers to wear only soft armors, since he has seen many of his friends die by drowning in plate mail.
He gets his nickname "The Bad Cheese" from one of his first ventures into seafaring trade. He bought a load of cheeses off of a halfling across the Sea of Fog, and failed to preserve it properly when he came back to the western side of the bay. Upon delivery, it had spoiled. He embraces his name, though, and has built a reputation for being reckless, no-holds-barred warrior. He will also eat and drink anything given the opportunity, and actually has a taste for bad cheeses. His iron stomach has allowed him to not only win many a drinking competition, but also survive being poisoned by the food given to him by his golbin captors more than once. He perfers barely cooked meats and marginally moldy cheeses to all other foods. Yeah, he's kinda gross.
When fighting goblins of their allies, Igrom must pass a wisdom check each round, minus the amount of damage he has suffered, or will slip into a dwarven battlerage.
The Mürmaids found Igrom in the hold of a slavers' ship late in their third dungeons and dragons session.
Igrom died shortly after Clyde's death in the 9th session of dungeons and dragons, when he was killed by giant poisonous frogs in the caverns beneath the mines of Darkshelf Quarry. He was a fun character, and will be missed.
