Clyndice (Clyde) Cindercaught | NPC (non-payer character) | Player Character

Clyndice (Clyde) Cindercaught

Dwarven Warrior With Shield (viking)
  • Race: dwarf
  • Gender: Male
  • Class: Fighter
  • Age: 76
  • Current Experience Level: Deceased
  • Hair: Sandy blonde
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Weapon of choice: Broadsword/shield
  • Notable features: his thick, blonde beard is tied into a single braid dangling from his chin. He claims that it provides less of a hand-hold when in a fist-fight. He has a distinctive scar running down the side of his face, and shaves the sides of his head.

Clyde was hired on as a guard at the harbormaster's office in Meis Osley, but was captured by the Mürmaids in their first d&d adventure. He was kept for a short time as a laborer on their boat, but proved his bravery, and the player characters offered to take him on full-time as a henchman.

Clyde is a member of the Foulbriar clan, some 30-50 years ago chased from their homes by hordes of goblins.

Clyde has a very questionable sense of morality. Also, he seems to get along well enough with orcs, when he has to, but cannot stand to be in the company of goblins, and will jump at the chance to kill them whenever possible. Other characters may need to convince him to act more peacefully in some cases.

Clyde became the player character of Jon, when Phil fell from great heights to his death. Jon has added some interesting role playing elements to the former guard of the Mies Osley harbormaster, namely that he is slightly afraid of heights, since watching Phil plummet to his death, and that he doesn't trust anythign that even looks magical, calling it witchcraft. He even refuses herbal potions, though he will accept healing in the form of field doctors, barbers, and the like.

Clyde was killed in episode 9, the third session of Danger in Darkshelf Quarry, when he was literally torn in half by mudtigers. It was a good, noble death, as he ran forward to try to cover for his allies' escape, but the mud tigers overwhelmed him, and full on shredded him. We're talking insides on the outside shredded.
